| Hug them for a little while; love them forever!

Dear Everyone:
I still can hardly speak since seeing all of you on Saturday. There are simply no words to describe the incredible elation of that day. There’s no way to tell you all what seeing you meant to me. So I guess I’ll stop. Blessings like that don’t magically appear----they’re gifts from the best family and friends a girl could ever have. One gift after another appeared when I saw Pat and Ray Richardson, Elin Arnold, my dearest Aunt Margie. When I saw Ed Bednar, and Michelle and Carol and Brian. My wonderful cousins Barbara and Fred Tackitt. My wonderful college friends, my special-beyond-special work friends, my old precious high school friends, dearest neighbors from the old neighborhood. So many came SO FAR for this----my Aunt Janet and my very special cousin Maria from Minnesota---and on and on. And some new friends that have entered my life all along. When I saw my sister Carol who worked so hard for this (I found out later!) I couldn’t believe my eyes. When my parents appeared out of the crowd, I thought I’d died and gone to heaven. The cake was an exact replica of our wedding cake. The music was from my father’s favorite Montivani collection. The flowers and balloons were all labors of love. I didn’t have any food so I can’t go there, but the martinis I left various places were wonderful! I could hardly assimilate all the stuff---a golf outing, babysitters, a “jumpy room” in my yard (!!!) and then the scholarship. Between my best friend Nancy Oetter and my glorious husband Rick, I’m in awe and wonder of the job you did, in my name, to honor my school and love of music. I read the lovely thank-you from Todd, the winner of the scholarship, in the pile of beautiful cards and notes I opened up yesterday. I can’t wait until next year when I can participate in the awards ceremony myself and see a kid’s face who gets the gift of college that my parents gave me.
I’ll leave it at that for now. For all of you who went un-named, you know who you are and I WILL GET YOU!!!! Watch every doorway, every phone call, every mysterious letter from me. Some of you will be 50 soon!!!......... My love and gratitude to you all for the greatest party anyone could ever have. Love and God Bless…..Diane
